Master’s Message
Masons, Also known as Freemasons, comprise the oldest, philanthropic, community-oriented fraternal organization, and exists throughout the world. Freemasonry stresses building character, knowledge, patriotism, brotherhood, family involvement and community service. Masonry is not a religion, but encourages each to practice the religion of his choice. Masons address each other as brothers in recognition of the strong bond that Masonic teaching develops. Fraternity-Dunderberg Lodge # 942 lives the tenants of Masonic teachings and the diversity of its brothers speaks to the belief in the tenant that all men are created equal. However, all men do not necessary become Masons, for to be a Mason requires integrity and commitment to humanity. The Lodge holds monthly meetings Tuesday evenings in Peekskill, NY the brothers reinforce their Masonic discipline while attending to lodge business. In addition the Lodge holds a number of social functions; some for the family such as a holiday party in December, a picnic in June and a Sunday brunch in July, along with other social functions for the brothers. The members also attend to their commitment to serve the community via a number of programs including participation in the Masonic ID program for children (amber alert) and senior citizens. Although charity is a key tenant of Freemasonry (Masons in the USA donate over $1 million every day), the only mandatory cost is the annual dues of $100. Contributions to its many charitable activities is voluntary and is not to be a burden on the brother or his family. We at Fraternity-Dunderberg Lodge # 942 in addition to the committment to focus on “making good men better” through the principles of Freemasonry, also choose to address social and moral concerns of each brother as would be done in any other wholesome family environment. If you are a man of integrity and wish to learn more about how you can enjoy the wonders of brotherhood at Fraternity-Dunderberg Lodge # 942, give me a call at 914- xxx-xxxx or send an e-mail to fdlodge942@yahoo.com.
